Welcome to Starting Solids App ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your data, and your child’s data, is handled securely and transparently. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
We design our app to collect only the minimum amount of data necessary to provide you with a safe, customized, and effective solid food transition roadmap.
- Information You Provide: We may ask for generic information such as your child’s first name (or a nickname), age, birth month/year, texture readiness, and known food allergens to personalize the app experience.
- Food Logs and Milestone Data: All data you log within the app—including introduced ingredients, successful food exposures, allergic reactions, and gut transit symptoms—is stored strictly and locally on your device using the iOS CoreData framework. We do not host your tracking history on our own permanent servers.
- Usage Data: We may collect anonymized, aggregated data regarding how you interact with the app (e.g., crash reports, feature engagement) to help us improve the app's performance and user experience.
2. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Our app is designed to be used exclusively by parents and caregivers, not by children. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information directly from children under the age of 13. Any data entered into the app regarding an infant (such as a name or dietary habits) is inputted entirely by the parent or legal guardian and is used solely for the purpose of generating and tracking the child’s nutritional progress within the application. We do not collect or store your child's tracking logs on our permanent corporate servers.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To synthesize and personalize your daily solid food roadmaps and meal sequences.
- To calculate developmental insights, track allergen exposure timelines, and display progress.
- To send you local push notifications (such as feeding reminders or safety alerts) if you have enabled them on your device.
- To analyze application stability, optimize performance, and resolve runtime bugs.
4. Data Storage and Security
We prioritize your family's privacy above all else. The core tracking data (your child's food logs, milestones, and diagnostic history) is securely isolated and stored locally on your device using CoreData. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information or your child’s health and feeding data with third-party advertising networks or data brokers.
5. Third-Party Services
We partner with trusted third-party services only for specific operational, financial, and analytical functions:
- Apple (StoreKit): To process secure in-app purchases and subscriptions. We never have direct access to your credit card or billing details.
- Analytics (e.g., Apple Analytics): To monitor app crashes, track conversion health, and analyze general usage trends in an entirely anonymized format.
