2. Personal and Health Data (Core Functionality) To provide our core service (AI-powered personalized diet plans and daily progress tracking), we require certain physical metrics and lifestyle habits from you. We have designed our system to prioritize your privacy and data security:

• Cloud Processing (Plan Generation Only): To generate your highly personalized diet plan, the answers you provide during the onboarding questionnaire (such as your age, current weight, target weight, dietary preferences, and lifestyle habits) are securely transmitted via encrypted channels (SSL/TLS) to our trusted third-party cloud AI service provider (Google Cloud Vertex AI). This transmission is strictly for the sole purpose of analyzing your inputs to create your diet roadmap.
• Temporary Retention & No Server Storage: Your physical metrics and questionnaire data are temporarily processed on Google Cloud Vertex AI's secure servers solely to facilitate the generation of the diet plan. We do not maintain our own databases or servers containing your personal or health data. The data sent to the AI provider is automatically discarded upon the completion of the request and is never used to train any machine learning models.
• Local Storage (On-Device): Once your customized diet plan is generated and sent back to your phone, everything is stored exclusively locally on your device. This includes your generated diet plan, daily calorie logs, step counts, and weight tracking history. If you delete the DietLab app from your device, all your personal data, plans, and history will be permanently lost.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, health metrics, or dietary preferences. We share data only with essential service providers necessary for the app to function:

• Google Cloud Vertex AI: As mentioned above, your anonymized physical metrics and preferences are sent to this cloud AI partner solely to generate the diet program. They are bound by strict data protection agreements (Google Cloud Privacy Terms) to not use your data for any purpose other than fulfilling your immediate API request.

4. Security We use industry-standard encryption protocols (SSL/TLS) to transmit your questionnaire data between your device and the AI servers. Because we follow a strict "zero-retention" server policy on our end and process/store your daily health data entirely locally on your device, the risk of data breaches involving your personal information is effectively minimized.

However, DietLab is not a medical organization, and our app is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
